In Search of The Diet Doctor's AnswersWe're here to Pump You Up! Hey, remember those guys from Saturday Night Live!, back in the day? They may have been total and complete idiots, but they did have the right idea about one thing. Getting in shape! Fitness is one of the major key elements to staying healthy and feeling great. What are you doing to get your body on the right track to a healthier and happier you? Maybe what you truly need is a helping hand to get started. This is completely normal. Many individuals require a helping-hand when it comes to getting in shape and beginning a heart-healthy diet. Maybe it's time you consulted the diet doctor for answers. The Diet Doctor was another name for Dr. Atkins, the founder of the Atkins Diet. This is all a bit tongue-in-cheek... as you might have noticed there are some people out there that are of the opinion that whenever they spot people who need to get in-shape, they should just race up to then and give them a few pointers regarding fitness and eating right. They think that all these individuals lack is proper discipline. They simply don't have the will power to stay away from the junk. This can be changed. With a little assistance from the diet doctor, you will be well on your way to living right. Yeah, right. If it were that easy we'd all be thin. Tenacity and will power really are not all there is to it. While it is true that the proper mind-set and drive are required to be successful, the whole process of gaining and losing weight has more involved in it than that. For example, when it comes to a healthy diet, one of my greatest pet-peeves is serving size. Far too many of us have lost the understanding of what a "serving" is. It's not six pieces of pizza. In fact, it's probably two or less. It's not two king size candy bars. It's only one of the regular size ones. This is where so many individuals go wrong. They want to consume too much food. This is plain and simply not healthy. You have to keep in mind what you actually do for a living and how many calories you burn. If you're sitting at a computer like I do, then you probably not burning as much as someone who's doing heavy construction work. Get the picture? For most of us, there's no reason to eat three cheeseburgers and a large fries. Actually, there's probably never any reason to eat that stuff. In the case of the Diet Doctor, the Atkins Diet restricts the bread from the bun and the fries. You'd be skipping the milk shake too. That's how the calorie restriction on the Atkins diet happens. When it comes down to it, you want to consume a balanced, healthy diet daily, but with servings that suit your needs. As the diet doctor would inform you, you don't want a lot of fat and calories if you're trying to lose weight. Get online now and learn more about the diet doctor. Pick a program that will work for you. This page was last updated on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 |
