New laptop with vista and need internet connection help.?
Ok so i just got a brand new laptop, only a few hours old and I figured it would be simple to connect, you know click connect and bingo, however it isn't so. I ran the HP wireless assistant and it still says it cannot connect to the internet. Any ideas? All i want to do is get my email, facebook, and download Itunes. I have my wireless home network up and running and it works because my brother has an HP with XP running and it connects with no problem. What should i do???? PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Ok so i continued and tried everything that you guys told me, however it still doesn't work. Please note the wireless router is connected to a computer running XP (dont think it matters). WLAN is on, but when i try to connect it simply says cannot connect. is there any software i need to install first?
At the left hand corner of your laptop on the side facing your where the black plastic is, there is a switch that says wireless.
Move that switch full right. Then
At the bottom Right hand corner of your screen is something that looks like a planet in front of two computers. If you click on it, you should see your something that shows the wireless signal and blue tooth is on. Then double click on it and you should see your network to choose from.
If you are going wireless, you should immediately configure your computer with your router and make sure you are secure on WPA2 or better.
