How to get a life after 62?
Turning 62 this month, receiving SSI/SSDI now, and moving into a Senior Housing facility has suddenly left me feeling very old, useless, bored, and in desperate need of getting a life now that my work and home life has passed.
Not driving anymore and certainly not ready to roll over and die just yet, I can't seem to find anything fun to do around town for us almost but not quite walker ready people,
Being female and holding up well for my age, friendship and companionship along with activities other than the local Senior organizations, or bingo, etc. do not interest me as I still have a lot of life in me I just can't seem to find a way to spend it.
Coming from the boomers generation, online dating, speed dating, single clubs, or walking to streets and hitting the bars just for company just isn't my style.
Any others out there with the same problem????

Let's hear some fresh ideas, something that will genuinely make us a little excited about getting up in the morning.
You're just entering a new and exciting phase of your life. I was there 15 yrs ago. Trust me, there is a lot of life left after 62. Life changes with age but it doesn't have to be over. There should be plenty of opportunity for meeting new people in Senior Housing. Dig back in your memory bank and consider some of the things you didn't have time to do when you were working and taking care of a family.
And most important. Don't dwell on the things you can no longer do but take pleasure in the things that you CAN still do and I'll bet there are lots if you'll just search them out.
